About the Role
This position is based at our midtown Nashville headquarters, with most work performed locally. However, some travel for installation and service work will be required Monday through Friday. Position Overview: Low Voltage/Network Technician
Key Responsibilities:
- Install structured cabling (all media) in new and existing buildings.
- Read and follow blueprints and wiring diagrams accurately.
- Test, troubleshoot, and document cable installations and low-voltage systems.
- Ensure compliance with NEC and local codes.
- Professionally interface with customers and project contacts.
- Maintain accurate project documentation, including labor hours, materials, and photos.
- Report any project changes or issues to the appropriate contact.
- Conduct site surveys.
- Attend project planning and progress meetings as needed.
What You Need to Succeed:
Must-Haves:
- Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Basic computer skills.
- Physical capability to climb ladders and use power tools effectively.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and up to 10 pounds frequently.
- Strong attention to detail and documentation.
- Logical problem-solving skills and ability to diagnose and resolve system issues.
- Willingness to travel regionally using company service vehicles.
Nice-to-Haves (But Not Required):
- 1-3 years of applicable experience.
- Knowledge of video, audio, and data communication systems.
- Experience installing, testing, and terminating low-voltage cabling (CAT5, CAT6, coax, etc.).
- Experience with CCTV and satellite dish installation.
- Ability to configure network hardware and software (routers, switches, firewalls, etc.).
- Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Professional certifications such as CTS, BICSI, or relevant manufacturer certifications.
